"Whenever you face a trial in life, the question of God’s "fairness and faithfulness" comes up. With the loss of a job, people wonder if they will ever get hired again or if they can trust God to help them through it. That is why we find our Career Support ministry to be vital to the life of the church. We help people not only with the practical issues of finding their next career, but also to learn that God intimately cares for them and their situation. Once they land that next job, they are reminded once again that God can supply all of their needs in His right timing. Our Careers ministry allows us to see lives changed, and hope restored to people in our congregation and our community. If someone who doesn’t attend your church gets help from the Careers ministry, they will often decide to attend a service. A Career ministry becomes a great outreach into the community. It is a practical way to love and serve others."
"In a culture that defines us by what we do, when we don’t, we aren’t. Looking for a job is not only a stressful and lonely experience, job transition can break us open as we begin to ask the deeper questions of life. Who am I? What do I really want to do? Faith-based job support groups can create a safe harbor for job seekers who are navigating the stormy seas of transition. They provide professional and practical instruction as well as emotional and spiritual support. The important work of job support groups creates the potential for women and men to make the most of a time in their life that presents both crisis and opportunity."
"The Career Transition Ministry at St. Mary of the Annunciation offers assistance to all of us during a job or career transition. We offer support and assistance through practical job advice, prayers and personal support. The strength of our ministry is based on the network of those in our church and supporting communities."
"Job and career issues are major sources of concern and stress for people and families. Holy Family is very pleased to have a program to offer the community that helps people get through difficult times and reach their goals. And people often continue to come back to the group and use their personal gifts to help others."
