The job market for the past two years has added four million jobs to the US economy. The pace of job creation has replaced all of the jobs lost with new jobs, with 134 million+ employees today compared to 132 million in 2001. In 2006, the job growth forecast is two million more jobs. The growth sectors are health care, financial services and some sectors of manufacturing and IT.

"I called an employer that I have worked with in the past. Timing is everything! The employer was looking for a security guard for a mid-night shift work schedule. I had the vet fill out an application form and faxed it to the employer. The vet had an interview 10 AM the next day. He was hired!"

All of us deal with employers in relation to fulfilling their staffing needs. As the pressures grow for success in staffing, employers will focus more on cycle time for filling open positions. How fast can an employer fill jobs? That will be a key criteria for recruiters as they select resources for fulfilling the company needs based upon performance. A Vet Rep’s ability to turn job postings into interviews quickly will have a competitive advantage over other resources. Suggestion: work the information on jobs and get people on site with employers.
