Work Ministry Updates

Work Ministry is now in 25 states and is looking to be in all 50 by the end of 2006. Did you know that we currently have 150+ networking groups on our site?

Networking Tip Of The Month

Are you attending 3 or 4 networking meetings a week? If not, you should. Why? Networking and support groups can give you ideas and share information with you while you are in your search mode. Losing a job can be a difficult and stressful time in your life. Sometimes we are not thinking straight and need the support of others to get us through these times. Remember, you are not alone in this journey!

What does a networking group do?

Networking groups are not just for support but to also share information such as target companies, contact information and who may be hiring.

Each of us is connected to a number of people through:

  • Family and friends
  • Peers
  • Former companies and organizations
  • Interest groups
  • Job Support groups

Since managing time and effort is important, a job search includes decisions about investing time with people and assisting them while seeking help and assistance.

Networking Group of the Month

Work Ministry would like to hear about your groups and happenings. Work Ministry would like to feature a networking group each month. This month Work Ministry will feature Holy Family Networking Group located in Inverness, Illinois. The Leaders of this group are Jim Phillips and Brian Healy. Holy Family was started in 1986 and meets every Saturday at 7:30 AM. One of the reasons why Holy Family is so successful is many of the members who have landed jobs continue to come to the meetings and support, coach and mentor those who are in transition. With attendance at anywhere from 25 to 45 members each meeting, their most recent one was the 956th meeting! Way to go Holy Family Leaders!!

Important Information

Leaders please review your Job Support Group web page and see if all info is accurate and up-to-date. Please send any corrections to webmaster@workministry.com.

Remember networkers: once you have landed your job, complete our landings survey.

Quote of the Month

"Maturity begins to grow when you can sense your concern for others outweighing your concern for yourself."
      - John MacNaughton

A Prayer While You Are In Transition

The Prayer of Jabez

Oh, that you would bless me indeed,
And enlarge my territory, that your hand would be with me,
and that you would keep me from evil
