Work Ministry: HOTTEST NEW WEB SITE FOR JOB SEEKERS is Faith-Based and provides live support, too

Employers Access Balanced Pool of Candidates

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chicago, IL. … A unique new Web site is not only an ideal resource for employers seeking a balanced pool of candidates, but also an entrée to a live support system for job seekers as well.

Chicago-based Work Ministrywww.workministry.com – was launched by three faith-based individuals, but is ecumenical and grassroots in its outreach and service efforts.

Work Ministry, by combining career management and faith issues, is attracting the interest of whole communities of employers and job seekers. For example, Work Ministry, through its database and networking resources, is connected to thousands of candidates. On any given day, 30 to 40 percent of candidate resumes are listed confidentially, offering a more balanced pool of candidates for employer selection.

"We have nearly as many employed candidates as unemployed," explained Bill Broderick, director of Work Ministry. "Employers are focused on selection and seek internet resources that address this issue. Our networking ability enables us to attract employed people as well as unemployed, and that makes us a more attractive resource."

"In our support groups, we find that employed people and unemployed people are a boon to each other," said Sue Cibelli, founder of Work Ministry. "Everyone helps and supports everyone else. People provide emotional and spiritual support along with practical advice on the job search process. That's why it works!"

"In all of our contacts with Faith-based organizations, everyone recognizes that there are real and sometimes very difficult needs of their memberships for help with career issues," said Ralph Tileston, Director of Work Ministry. "We have the resources to help an FBO put a program together that has very positive impact on the careers and job search issues of members."

Work Ministry’s leadership is deeply committed to the communities they serve:

Work Ministry lands key endorsements

Four nationally recognized thought leaders on career management and internet recruiting have endorsed and praised Work Ministry’s site and service.

In a review of workministry.com, Margaret Dikel, author of the Riley Guide for Job Search and Internet Resources, said: "Work Ministry offers job seekers a nation-wide database of jobs along with resources to support their search while supporting the job support groups. They are . . . building lists of faith-based network groups by state . . .Nice site, and definitely working to improve the world."

Richard N. Bolles, author, What Color Is Your Parachute? A Practical Manual for Job-Hunters and Career-Changers, the best-selling job-hunting book in the world with eight million copies in print, said: "Church groups (and others) wanting to create a support group for job-hunters in their community will find considerable help at www.workministry.com, a new site offering free downloadable instruction sheets, handouts, and so on. The three founders of this site are very much to be commended for this public service."

John Lucht, author of Rites of Passage at $100.000 to $1 Million+, the #1 best-selling executive career book, and host of RiteSite.com, a leading executive career Web site, said: "Faith-based organizations all across America are the meeting place and often the sponsors of counseling and support groups for the unemployed. Persons of the same and different faiths – and of no faith – are welcomed alike. WorkMinistry.com is providing a means for these many local efforts to work together in a national program. Congratulations and God Speed to WorkMinistry.com!"

Peter Weddle has written numerous articles and annual guides on job boards and internet recruiting. In the following excerpts from It takes a Community to Recruit Successfully, an article on CareerJournal.com, October 12, 2004, he writes: "An online community creates the same sentiment of membership at a spot in cyberspace – a Web site – that a traditional community creates in the real world … These groups have three characteristics in common: peoples share a common outlook, get information and support and believe they can be themselves without risk of criticism.

"When a Web site establishes a ‘brand’ that has all of these characteristics, it is transformed into an online community, a place where even the most passive of candidates feels as if he or she has beneficial relationships. Communities work because they provide an experience that is familiar and comfortable." (Reprinted from with permission from Peter Weddle, WEDDLE's LLC, www.weddles.com).

Sue Cibelli is watching workministry.com grow and is gratified to see that her hunches about employers and candidates alike are on target: "Once we got our site up and running, we needed to see if candidates would visit and sign up, and they are. But more importantly, they are getting valuable information, viable job leads, and perhaps most important of all, hope.

"We also needed to see if employers would respond to a growing network of faith-based communities – and they are doing so, beyond our wildest imagination!"
